The Cleveland Way runs through 109 miles of glorious north Yorkshire scenery. It’s a walk of two halves: first, along the cliffs between the resort towns of Filey and Saltburn; and then, a moorland section across the North York Moors to Helmsley.
That is, if you walk it ‘backwards’, as I am doing. The prevailing westerly winds help walkers doing it the other way round, but since there are long south-north and north-south stretches, that’s not as much a major factor here as on trails such as the Hadrian’s Wall Path.
For now, this is a placeholder page, until I complete the trail, planned for early spring 2018.
